Confession

James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Who do you confess to?
Who do you ask for prayers from?

Confession is often misunderstood as something that is optional in the faith, but as long as sin still exists in the world, confession is a part of our Christian formation.

Sin separates us from God, and confession is acknowledgement of that separation. Without confession, the chasm between God and our sinful nature remains unspoken. In a sense, confession is about acknowledging where God is and where I am in relationship to Him.

Confession is the first step in healing a broken relationship.

We have adopted the rally cry “No One Walks Alone”. One of the things I appreciate about that rally cry is that it is a reminder how much we need each other.

We need each other for prayer.
We need each other for encouragement.
And we definitely need each other for confession.
